Yup - my Dad always yelled that at me. I never really understood it because presumably he knew the answer!

In the 60's ESSO had a "Put a tiger in your tank" ad campaign. You could get these "tiger tails" to put around your gas cap and hang out. (I couldn't talk them into buying the long one.)

ESSO was a big thing in my family. My Grandfather and His Dad both worked at the huge Baton Rouge Refinery.
I was a loyal customer (until they handed to keys of their Central American refinery to the new communist dictator.)

Hubby and I both worked at a professional lab, printing in the darkroom. He also "ran film," C-41, E-6, and B&W.

I developed and printed my own work in college, all three types of film. I got to work with the Dye Transfer process for my senior year.

Those were the days... sigh.

I had a semester of B&W photography in college. Loved developing my film and then making the prints. Then I went back 20 years ago to take Digital Photography with Photoshop. I still use Photoshop to develop digital negatives.
