I hate heights, dw is super mad at me now for not being able to do our roof last week, even after renting a 45' lift, thought it would help and handled much of it, but the darn things are made for level ground....super scary....She's just going to have to figure out how we can pay to have someone else do it, not getting up there again...took it back.
I had a tree stand break under me yrs back, nothing broke, hurt and lame for awhile though. Guy at work gave me a tree stand harness, said, "If you don't wear it for yourself, wear it for your family",...I wear it.
Milk truck driver that comes in regularly where I work, grandson was one of the workers involved in this, five stories, 60 feet, one guy is a vegetable, his grandson bounced off the pavement and went through a window, only injury was a cut finger from a circular saw in the room he bounced into....He had issues later, knew he would had to.

The company that constructed the scaffolding got a tiny fine for not having ANY safety chains attaching it to the building.

I hear you... I'm not afraid of much.
But heights scare the h3ll out of me.
I quiet literally freeze. Which is weird cuz I'm not really afraid of death.... Not that i want to die mind you. But i couldn't even hunt out of a treestand for the longest time.
When i was in the Air Force part of my job was to stand on a 4 by 4 platform 75 feet up but when i got out i quit doing it and somehow developed a fear of heights.
Yeah I'd say scrape of the cash and pay to have it done..... Because honestly it would probably be dangerous if you somehow managed to get up there and tried. You would be so nervous you'd be more prone to have an accident.

Choose your battles and let your DW be mad!!
Pretty sure she would prefer an intact hubby and it cost a bit than have you fall.

I hate it when my DH goes onto our roof (very steep and 4 floors up).
Experts with safety gear (and a living to make) are better off fixing the roof/solar.

Cross post, but most people are here that want to know.

I caught Ruby tonight!!! She is safely penned up. A sight for sore eyes!!! :weee
