This thread started with Chooks man's critiques of my first batch of cockerels. If you go to page one you can see how far I have come in two generations and believe me when I say I am very haphazard about the whole thing.

So now we have our new picks. I only have a picture of the one you have seen but you can see the progression.

Here are the sires from the very beginning of the line again.

They were lovely! But her feet have a yellow tint to them it looks like. And this too shall pass. Hang in there.

I don't have these birds anymore. I just wanted Marchick to see her.

Is it normal to feather this slow?

I think if I remember right I thought #1 could be a cockerel. I knew 3 was and thought #1 might be.

Nope- you called pullet on the other 3. 1 still has no comb at all really. But it carried its wings like 3 and stood upright. No one could get past the comb and said pullet. Maybe it's another freak?

So are you saying 1 is a cockerel?!! Cuz I'm starting to wonder if 2 is as well as 3!!!!

It probably would be best to work with a male from another line free from the yellow leg genes and then breed his daughters back to him. You can establish a line from him free from the genes.

I am getting some Blue Copper Chicks from Harvey. He has real nice Birds and no yellow in his line.

Oh I got confused where Im on my phone on byc. I though marchick posted them! Lol

I worry about spreading that yellow leg gene. I will make sure they go to people that only want egg layers and make them aware of the yellow.

Would just be a pretty a layer in my flock
