My question may sound stupid. I've only been raising chickens four years. So I'm still fairly new at it. I had a question about broodiness. My sweet girl Icicle Frost, a light Sussex. Just started laying her first eggs, as did her adopted sister Ursla Seashell. I'm wondering. Is it NORMAL to go right into being broody when you lay your first eggs ever? Is it just her, or is this breed known to be broody?
And what's funny i's they both laid their eggs in the same clutch. Here is a pic of my sweet girls, and daddy, who I think is an Easter egger. His name is Friday Wednesday.

That’s definitely not common!

My record from first egg to going broody is 5 weeks. That was one of my Naked Neck pullets. I have a mixed breed pullet that went broody after 8 weeks of laying. I think your little gal is one for the record books!
