Since my chickens have been laying. How long does it usually take before the eggs are consistantly large in size? I have so many tiny ones and I really can't sell those.
Think of your pullets as teenage girls. The plumbing is working but they aren't really fully mature yet. Sometimes it can be closer to 1 year in age before the eggs consistantly reach the standard size. We are so used to the grocery store egg we forget that not every chicken lays a "Grade A - Large" egg. Some lay different shape and some lay small or medium and some are jumbo layers. You can't predict it all. You just have to wait and see what comes out in the end. No pun intended.
