A few of my birds. Comments welcome. Feather quality is pretty poor right now and the young grey cock wouldnt pose for me.

The main thing I see is the posture is very upright for Japs. I know we don't always catch them at their best. I love the very tight u at the back/tail junction.

Hey all! I'm wondering when mottleds start getting their adult plumage in? My current flock of chicks are almost 3 months old and have had a molt or 2 and while they do look different from their first chick feathers they are still painfully light. In fact this current molt has seen a loss in the black.

The chick above is what they looked like when they were 3 weeks old.

This is I believe the same chick as above with the severe loss of black in evidence at 2.5 months.

The chick you are calling mottled is I believe a Black Tailed White not a Mottled. A mottled would have gotten mottled feathering from the start.

Thanks for your thought, I'm still gonna wait it out in hopes. They all had the classic black dot on the head and came out of grey parents and like I said they started out with a lot more black as chicks. Guess we'll see!

Oh My God!!!! That is Hilarious and ridiculous at the same time lol. Hes a crazy little roo. I love it. How did he possibly get up there?

I think it was the combination of a feral dog and a windy day. At first I thought I'd lost one and then he crowed and I saw him up there and couldn't imagine how I'd get him down. He did eventually come down that day on his own luckily.

Anyone know where to get blue japanese bantams...ii have a breeding pair and would like more great genetics in my flock??
