However the buff is way too light and I'm not sure what color the legs are? They look green in the pic, but I know pics can be deceiving. He is probably mixed.

jenjscott - His legs are a greenish color, but he also has a little bit of feathering on them. Does that mean he's a mix or a different breed altogether?

He's probably a mix since I have never seen a Black Tailed Buff Jap with feathered legs or that light of a color.

Thanks for the replies on my "BTW jap." So now I have a few questions on these 3 little chickies. I believe they are all pullets, yes? The black and white ones seem obvious, but what do you call the color on the other one? Are these even japs?? If not, do you know what they are? More mutts??

If they are Japs, they have extremely long legs for the typical Jap. The top one looks like a gray, the mmiddle one may be somewhat like a Black Tailed Buff, and the bottom one probably is a White, but not typical Jap type. Just one example would be the tails. The tail of even Japs this young should be standing straight up and a 90 degree angle to the body.
