Keeping your feed mouse/ rat free

This may have been covered already but I can put about 1000 lbs of horse feed in an old freezer in my pump house
My chicken food is in steel trash cans.
Is that what most of you do???

Steel trash cans. I can get 100 pounds of feed in one can.

We use huge Rubbermaid trash cans on wheels, keep lids tight.
The feral cats we feed patrol them, so we don't need metal.
Even a curious squirrel is dead within hours of arrival...

We use the trash can (32 Gal) and put bag & all in them. Some of the feed we get says not to put in metal cans, therefore the whole bag goes in these metal cans.

Metal trash cans for me too. I have had the same ones for years and they are outside year round. I do have mine on bricks to they don't have contact with the ground.
