Oh, I didn't mean the buildings...just the actual ground/dirt in there run. With a torch thingy..I dont know what it's called..it hooks to a propane tank..

Not sure that would do much besides risk the walls. Plus some of these birds free range the entire lower part of our property. It's not just pens of birds that are getting it

Most likely. We live next to a rancher and it was undeveloped land before us, so he likely let them roam

That's a possibility...if they had something infecting there hooves it could get in the land..

We just don't know, because we had birds for several years before this started happening on the land. It's not something that has plagued us since the beginnig

Chickens and cattle roam the same property all the time. Many a healthy footed chicken has scratched around in cow poop over the years.

I think they were thinking along the lines if hoofrot (I don't know if that's just a sheep and goat thing or if cattle can get it too) and how it can stay for years after the animals are gone.

Oh I wasn't talking poo . I was talking hoof issues specifically. I know some of those are bacterial.
