Buff duck is trying to nest. Thankfully I don't think any of her eggs are fertile. I'll need to get rid of them, I've been really slacking getting eggs out of that pen

I'm thinking I'm going to try and order some blue runners for this summer. I think I'll move the khaki in that pen too since she's so small. Even my Swedish male is pretty big compared to her

I hope she tries again come warmer weather. I have some mule eggs I could theoretically put under her, but her being so young and the risk of winter suddenly doing a 180 and becoming terrible makes me not want to let her continue. But I would love to have her (as well as the pekin and khaki) decide they like to be broody

It's so good that you can do this. This way at least they do not suffer and go to good use feeding you folks.

Oh my God, @Canadian Wind , how could you not tell me my muscovies would sound like turkeys?!?!? It was the cutest thing ever when all four gals were just blabbering yesterday!!

Well, I don't really consider it turkey noises! More of a soft trill, at least with mine.

Isn't it adorable?? It's what got me sold on them originally.

I too love the noises mine make. They are such sweet sounds. Then I have one Duck that actually Honks like a Goose! What a variety of sounds out of 12 Hens and 3 Drakes. 2 are Muscovy Hens and the rest a variety of different ducks including my Mule.

I would almost like them, despite being ducks!
Turkeys make the best and most beautiful noises out of all creatures.
