Hello!
I have a flock of 9 Wellsummer laying hens, which are housed in a chicken tractor / eggmobile arrangement, where they move onto fresh grass every day. I don't have a rooster. They're just a bit more than a year old now.
I've been using an organic, soy-free layer feed sourced from a nearby farm.
Over the last few months, an increasing number of them have had the feathers missing on their backs near their tail. A couple of them also have red skin towards their back ends, and are losing / have lost the feathers on their butts.
I'd like to treat them myself, if possible. Any ideas on what's going on, and what I can do about it?
