My babies love their Pretend mama!
I placed a 10” piece of
my daughters old feather boa into the new hatchery and my babies just fuss over it. They cuddle in and bury themselves into the mass of fluff! Highly recommend this for your new peeps!

That's sweet! :love
I have hung feather dusters in the corner of my brooders for fussy chicks. Just low enough for the feathers to sit on the bottom. They will run in and out from underneath and all huddle under to sleep... Chicks are so cute!!!:love

DO NOT DO THAT! It' s very dangerous to put feather dusters, that are typically made with ostrich feathers, as substitutes. Ostrich feathers have long, flexible barbs that collect electricity if met with friction. This electricity can cause the barbs to stick to the chick, and cause entanglement of the legs and even neck.

A better solution is a chandelle feather boa that can be bundled and hung by a string. Chandelles are made out of turkey feathers, and are much more safe!:thumbsup
