Terrible hatch rate this time.

My two hatches this spring were unusually poor. I just set another incubator full hoping to make up for it.

Lost one of last hatch to accident. Broken neck, looks like a goat stepped on it. Very sad.

That's unfortunate.

Chickens are capable of having some very odd freak accidents.

Heat plate failed (damaged switch). Lost one. Other two eggs doing nothing. I think the effort as using the barn in these conditions was less than wise.

My wife is going to unsolder the switch as soon as we can move them out of the brooder box and repair things. Right now, I'm using a clamp to hold it in place to keep it from turning off on its own.
