Does anyone have any Midnight Majesty Marans? Preferably from Hoover Hatchery. Just curious to see how yours looks compared to mine and the color of the eggs they lay.

The good news: I have one of Hoover's Midnight Majesty Marans. The bad news: I am technologically challenged and don't post photos. Yet.

However, if you put up photos, I will be happy to offer a written comparison :D of my girl's appearance and eggs. Eleanor's are the darkest among my layers, beating out my Welsummer. Not as dark as I expected, but dark enough to make egg customers happy.

Not a decent picture, but this was her as a pullet. The egg I’m trying to determine if it belongs to her or to my Barnevelder.

I think my Eleanor's eggs are darker than that. She occasionally has those tiny spots on her eggs, but so does my Welsummer. She's a pretty regular producer, and the eggs are on the large size.

Now that she's a little older, does your girl have feathering on her legs? Eleanor has just a bit, not as much as Cochins or Faverolles, but scraggly little feathers. Also, as she grew up, she developed one of the larger combs of any of the hens here.

Hope you get it figured out; sorry I can't come up with a solid answer.

My two have completely different faces. One is lighter and one has black cheeks/beak. In these photos they are about 9 weeks old.

I have 2 that I got tonight. I tried to introduce them to our other chicks and they were not nice haha. I have one that has a black beak and black toes and they were pecking and grabbing the feet of the black one. Did you have other breeds of chicks that you introduced yours to without any issues? I separated the 2 MMM from the rest of the chicks by hardwire in the tank to hopefully have them introduced more successfully.
