MJ's little flock

She doesn’t appear to look after herself very well wehen she’s broody or moulting. :he
Mark and I were just talking about moulting and health. He has a hen who looks unwell when moulting and she gets picked on by the others too. Same with Janet. She moults heavily every year and her health suffers.

Anyway here's Joyce watching the world go by half an hour ago.

Come on Joycie, you can do it! :fl

Ok, I am officially worried about Snowy. :hit She went to bed with an empty crop so brought her in for some supper. Well, she didn’t really want the seed she was getting into yesterday so offered her a bit of shredded cheese and rice. She seemed more interested in that but when I went to give her more cheese, she wasn’t interested. She seems to have a mix of broken feathers and pin feathers and she did a really suspicious-looking poo. Of course we are going away in four days and I’m working most of the time so seeing a vet will be difficult. I’m not coping! :hit

She is a beautiful girl. I hope she will be ok.
I'd offer her some canned fish for protein/feather growth, or some egg.
Is it wet and muddy there? Have you ever treated for coccidiosis? Do you see any lice egg build up around the feather shafts?
