I have a pure white chicken with blue legs and 5 toes no idea what breed, but she is molting and every day it keeps getting colder! Should I give her a sweater?

hey there! She should be good! She will start growing her feathers back soon! If you want you can give her warm oat meal! My hens love it

They should be fed rarly! Not as a diet replacement!

Switching to feed with higher protein can help them through molt. Do NOT use a sweater, the pinfeathers rubbing against the knit can irritate them, and possibly even stunt the new feathers growing in.

If you want to give them warm feed, wet whatever pellets/crumbles you have with warm water to make a mash. My birds love it. They get warm food, I use up the fines from the bag of feed so it isn't wasted, and I feel like I'm spoiling them with out giving them "treats" instead of food.

I feed 20% all flock, and so far my girls have done very well with their partial molts.
