Hello I have two red sex links I got them both as chicks at the same they said they were about 2 weeks so if that's true by now they are 5 months 2 weeks old. One is already laying eggs Kurt she has a big red comb the other Dylan has yet to lay she has a tiny comb light pink but my Kurt's comb used to be really straight up but after she layed her first egg it flopped to the side & got pale I assumed it was cause it was her first egg so it might have been painful for her I also thought her comb would go back up & it did get red again very bright healthy but her comb is still floppy will it go back up or is it going to stay like that & is there anything wrong with her she seems really healthy & happy with everything very energetic too it's been floppy for two days now sometimes it seems like it's going up but then goes back. Please tell me if she's sick what can I do is it normal? Her comb is pretty big. This is her comb before egg laying & when she still had it smallerView attachment 1255870 This is her comb now after her first eggs she likes to lay down on the cold pavement she doesn't let me take pictures when she's on the grass she runs away View attachment 1255862 View attachment 1255864 View attachment 1255865

When a hens start laying their combs grow bigger or flop over and turn bright red it will probably stay that way unless you live in cold environment, if you live in a cold environment her comb will perk back up. Thats what happened to my rooster he was old and his comb was starting to flop over and then we got cold weather and he looked young again!
