I have a pair of black silkies and a friend hatched an am x silkie mixed thats chocolate my plan is to breed it to my black silkie rooster and keep a silkied black male then breed him to my black hen and keep a silkie chocolate this is where I will keep tabs on it
This is my silkie mix chocolate pullet

its being raised with black silkie chicks was hoping one of these was a male but already seeing leakage on one so not keeping this one as it also is lacking extra toes

First one has eggs in the bator from my black hen well see what hatches should get chocolate pullets from them then hes gonna be processed and gonna use the second one he has the least leakage right now

So on the 3 week olds did lose a black one got chilled and another black was having like a seizure but is better now sold two chocolate pullets chicks for $10 each and its either these eggs are very fertile or im a pro silkie hatcher as this next hatch...12/12 hatched!! But heres the sad news...only 2 are chocolate in this batch heres all 12 at a week old now

They look great, but i would try for 2 batches from each gen before rehoming because something could happen and you might have to start over.
