my pet chicken order coming in the week of June 15th!

mine are black australorps! i'm in Virginia and they shipped from Connecticut!

i had a separate order of 3 (2 cochins and 1 EE), but the blue cochins didn't hatch well so they are delaying that second shipment by a week

but here are the 3 Black Australorps in their temp brooder!

(mind you, i'm at work and a small cardboard box is going to have to suffice until i can take them home!!)

all arrived VERY healthy, VERY active, and VERY ready to eat and drink! they were very neatly packaged in a vented cardboard box with a nest of straw, a heating pad, and some gro-gel! they were peeping softly, but were not distressed in any way!

only one came with a small amount of pasty butt (wasn't really covering the vent, but a small amount had dried on some fluff underneath the vent)

i cleaned it immediately and all 3 chicks are clamoring over the food!

my second shipment has been delayed (blue cochins didn't hatch well, but should arrive next week)

Congratulations on your chicks! I got 8 from MPC last week and they are all doing great so far. They are so cute and growing so fast.
