My roo is nesting and clucking. Why?

Okay... so my rooster sat in a nest and clucked for about one hour. The next day my first ever hen went broody on me in the same exact nest! She is still in there one week plus. Could the rooster possibly have trained her to do that?

My boss hen doesn't make crowing-like noise. She jumps on the other girls (they willingly squat) and I've actually seen a sort of liquid dripping down onto the hen on the bottom. I live in California, could this have something to do with it?
