Naked Neck/Turken Thread

Humidity shouldn't be an issue today, at least if Draye's corner of Arkansas is getting the same Biblical storm we are!

I live in a dry climate with little rain. but it it rains it is always biblical storm! I hate it. my chickens get sick and my vegetable garden is suffering as well.

good luck!

My refrigerated eggs were due to hatch today. So far nothing, but I'm giving them a little longer because the other day the electricity went out fir a little bit.

When I checked in the water I thought a heard a chick chirping, but maybe it was my imagination,

:fl

I heard chirping but thought it was my imagination. the next day my little wonder hatched. she needed high humidity though. I switched off the bator as I thought there were no chicks and humidity went to 90. that is how she managed to make a little hole. then I switched the bator on and had to assist as she was too weak. in my case the temperature was 3 degrees lower so it is real wonder she hatched at all.

I gues things were delayed. There were a few eggs in there that aren't refridgerated. I had them separated out and I've just checked about 3:00!am my time and there were thre that hatched from the counter eggs.

I'm hoping sone of the refridgerated eggs will hatc, hoping that they are just a little more delayed.

We did get some of those storms. It quite early in the morning right now, sleeping problems for me, so don't know if there was any damage or not.

The sleeping problems aren't from the storm though. This is just about an every night/morning occurrence.

Draye, here is the one that looks similar to the other I showed yesterday...then I have a few more to show here...

Very pretty baby. :)

This one is a little stinker! Very fiesty. Today my DH was changing the water and getting fresh food. Well, this one..one from an Ivy egg..flew up to sit on the side of the brooder. It will always be the first to the food dish when put back in, and will sit atop it to eat. lol..and then...it sweeps down on the others that have finished eating .. while screaming at them. Sometimes when we walk by the brooder, it will make an alert sound. All of them freeze! So funny..thinking boy!
See that look I'm getting? lol Has a beard/muff..cute

This is one from the Prince egg..

This one I thought was all black when it hatched. It isn't black. :) This one is very very sweet. Very calm. Came from a Dolly egg.

Another little beard/muff..look at that sweet face. :)
