Need advice on layena

Have a pair of breeding flying mallards (not rouen). The hen has already started laying in a nest. Im in Ga but still early for this. Approx 8-10 eggs but isnt sitting yet. My local feed store isnt able to get any Mazuri Waterfowl Breeder as purina has it on backorder. Ive only ever fed my birds Mazuri. Any advice on a layena blend I should use instead? I cant get mazuri until the end of Feb. TIA! Jim

layena crumbles are great my mallards eat it just fine and they are as healthy as could be.

Buff what "concentration"? My feed store has two types and I wasnt sure which was better. I think its the amount of protein in it! Im a layena neophyte!! Always used Mazuri!

Ohh ill have to check when I get home the feed store here only sells one kind I believe so I'll check for you asap

Chicken layer pellets in 15 -16 percent protien and you can bump up the protien for breeding with some gamebird maintainence or gamebird breeder. I still use the Mazuri waterfowl starter for ducklings but gave up that Mazurii as the main diet years ago. Too expensive and I got the same results
