Nest pad ideas!!!??

Hi My Backyard peeps!!!!
I have awesome chickens and I use fake Turf as their nesting material has been easy to wash and very durable but lately I've seen and smelled them so I might want to change them. We started out with straw and things of that sort and it didn't work out I'm thinking of silicone pads.... Anyone think that's not a good idea heat, pecking, bugs, whatever please give me advice!!!

I always use pine shavings, and they work great. When the nest starts getting low and/or dirty, I just throw in some new ones. I've been using the shavings for years.

I loved using these:

I used them until my ducks decided to eat them - lol! I HIGHLY recommend them. The hens can arrange them as needed but not kick out the material. I replaced them occasionally if they got dirty, but it is easy just to shake them out.

Yes I recommend these as well! The hens also can’t dig to the bottom of the box with these and lay their eggs on the plywood which can cause cracks.

Precision pet is the brand. I got mine on Amazon. I'm sure other places have them. They come in 10 packs.
