New hatchings!!

I put together an incubator from a Insulin shipping cooler, and put in 4 eggs to see if it worked. Well today my first chick broke the shell! I hand turned these 4 and didn't expect much, but to my amazement today....one is hatching! I'll keep updates on the progress! It's so fun to watch them coming out!

Congrats Adeters2! It must be eggciting to have made your own incubator, and to have one hatch. What kind of chick did you get?

Not sure...lol.. Really, I'm quite new to this whole new world of chickens!! I was told my chickens were game chickens. But I was also told some of them might be brown leghorns...I have a few pics on my web pages here on BYC and also a few on my myspace site, under chickens chickens chickens... Any help on identifying them? As soon as I get my camera working again, I'll post a few pics of the newest!!
