1st step to chicken math is acceptance.

Spent nineteen hours tearing this bad boy down in some pour ladies backyard. She brought us coffee and blueberries and smoothies. I severely underestimated what it took to disassemble a playhouse. Which is having me reconsider how this thing is going to go back up. I'm coming to terms with the fact that it's not going to look the same and THATS OKAY, because the whole point of repurpossing something is to make it your own. These tiny dinosaurs have been surprising and unintentionally more therapeutic than anything I've tried over the years. So, that aside I've decided to pursue building and having more than just a standard coop, but to what end.... I'm no sure yet.

I'm absolutely awful at keeping track or records and am going to try to do that here with the progress of my coop, flock, and kiddo to help me with time reference.
As of right now I have 3 ducks (4.5mish) 3 chickens (4.5mish) 2 chicks (2.5mish)
We just recently relocated to Boyd, Texas where th average summer temperatures have been triple digits multiple weeks in a row which we've all felt every degree of.

I just wanted to get something on here and get this thing going and see what comes of this and the life I'm trying to rebuild around it as well. Like I said this is more meant to give myself some sort of mental rolidex but if you happen to stop by from time to time enjoy the chaos. Hi, my name is Morgan and these are my chickens 🫡

P.s. I also just realized everyone hasn't been properly named. I need to fix that.
1) white/ grey Wyandotte dominant hen?
2) black 1 hen?
3) black 2 roo?
4) brown duck female?
5) duck 1 male?
6) duck 2 female?
7) brown/light brown chick hen?
8) splash white yellow & brown chick roo?

Congratulations on giving in to chicken math ASAP; it's much easier if you don't try to fight it :lau. I started with one coop, and I won't even tell you how (very) many I have now.

Your mixed flock is lovely -- especially the cutie in the bath tub!

Hope you and the poultry are able to cope with the heat. The temps here reached the mid-90's last week with the heat index hitting the triple digits, and that was stressful enough.

Best wishes with your re-build, and welcome to BYC, Morgan!
