I am getting into growing my chickens, so I am a newbie.
Hope to enjoy my new hobby and pets.

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I am new to growing chickens but I did have chicks when I was young.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Still incubating... out of 20 hopefully I get 10 hens.

(3) What breeds do you have?
I will have Buff Silkies and Buff Orphingtons

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Raising something from start to finish and taking care of my flock.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Building computers and Cars.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a wife and two kids. I am hoping that the kids will enjoy them much as I will.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
My friends who has chickens also suggested this site.

chickens are fun... love sharing them with my kids. It wasn't as picture perfect as I imagined when I first brought my chicks home but now we are 3 months into it and the chicks are big enough for my kids to appreciate. But it is well worth the experience for them! One of my boys didn't start showing interest until he read an article about chicks hatching; it was cool to watch him connect more and what better way than how they're born. I hope the best for you and your flock, I hope you find the experience as fulfilling.
