6

(3) What breeds do you have?
2 bantam cochins (calico, one smooth, one frizzle), Delaware, Gold Star, and New Hampshire

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I like how social they are and would like eggs

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
sewing, gardening, and pets

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Married 23 years, have 6 kids (ages 3-26), currently have 3 dogs, 4 cats, and 6 chickens. But we've had all sorts of pets in the past. Rabbits, ferrets, hamsters, guinea pigs, toads/frogs, geckos, snake, rats, mice, and fish. I was ready to have outdoor pets vs inside so got chickens 5 months ago.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I found you probably in October 2023 when researching about some health issues in my chickens.

What a great intro Mamma. I loved the list of pets! I've never had snakes but I've owned all the rest. Chickens are great pets cause,

and it doesn't get better than that. Plus they are such goofballs! Kind of like watching toddlers? You wonder what are they thinking and what are they trying to tell me??? with that squawking.

I'm in Indiana (Muncie, outside city limits).
Only 2 are bantam that are 7 months old. The other 3 are full sized and 5 months old. My run has tarps on it now to block wind so shared some older pics of that.

Such beautiful chickens and looks like a great setup and place you have! :love

I lost 2 of my 5 month olds this month, so I'll be compiling a post on that. And I have 1 chicken inside that has a limp, but her issues seem opposite of my other 2. I'm hoping she just hurt her leg.
Looking forward to reading about your flock. It's through sharing our experiences that we learn.
