Welcome to BYC! We can teach you because we've all made plenty of mistakes.
Tips:
1. Start with a roomy and secure coop & run on a spot with good drainage.
2. Do not bring adult birds into your flock.
3. Feed them a good quality food and keep oyster shell and grit available at all times.
4. Enjoy your flock

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

You will do fine! Chickens can seem daunting at first, but with good care, they pretty much take care of themselves. Most importantly is space...give them plenty of it in the coop and run. Don't be tempted to cram in more, they turn on each other easily, get sick and won't thrive if they don't have enough personal space. Keep them on a good diet of chicken feed and for treats, lots of greens! Salad greens are wonderful detox for the liver, chickens can be prone to fatty liver. Keep things clean. Spend lots of time with them, they will definitely shine with love!
