I noticed my male is getting too mellow, I looked between feathers and noticed little orange bugs. Maybe lice? So I took diatomaceous powder human grade and poured on vent and tried to rub him with it under wings and body I figured if he had it, other birds would also, so I treated them all. I totally cleaned the coop and put wood shavings in it also. I never bathed them. Should I and how?. Do I need to bump it up with some supplements also?

I have 8 chickens. I'm not sure about the dust baths. I have diatomaceous earth mixed in with the soil that the chickens dig out and dust in, but haven't noticed Bjorn in there
