She's 5, will be 6 on Memorial Day.
Since her second year she hasn't laid in November. So far I have gotten 5 eggs from her in the past couple of weeks.
Today she tried laying, but couldn't produce it...she finally did, but was still uncomfortable and strainging and had egg white on her bum feathers. I brought her in, cleaned her bum, checked for a prolapse and found the teeny egg on the floor. It's about the size of a quarter.
I brought her in again, set her on the heated wheat/rice thingee that you microwave...DH was like Don't put her in the microwave, she'll make a mess"
But I set her on my lap and rubbed her tummy and she seemed like she was better. Especially after plooping on my sweatshirt.
It's just strange that she's laying at this time of year and the little egg was even odder.
I'll keep an eye on her tomorrow and see how she is.
