Ended Official 2022 BYC Other Fowl Molt Contest

A few of my chickens just started molting, but luckily it's nothing too dramatic. Everyone else is done. Poppy is back to her fully feathered self.

Poor girl. It must be uncomfortable to roost at night. Hopefully those feathers grow in quickly.

I still have one poor Turkey hen in a thankfully light molt not worth taking pics of, but she seemed to be fine through that arctic blast we just went through. Glad for her sake and mine that we are having a heat wave right now feels so good but everything becoming a muddy mess with rain predicted for next few days. Guess we have to take the good with the bad.

Here's my Royal Palm turkey hen Poppy. She's going through quite a hard molt this year. First her pretty face...

Cute story is that every night for a long time she has come up to me for a hug before I shut their door. I didn't think she'd want a hug in this condition lol, but she hasn't missed one yet, spikes and all.

Still waiting on my pied Muscovy to do her thing, but my white Muscovy is currently looking pretty silly! I would have taken more pictures, but we had an attempted hawk attack right after this was taken (no one was hurt, but they are all locked back up)! I will try to get more pictures later.
