Oregon Spring Poultry Swap May 5, 2012 in Canby!!!

Yes. Just yesterday, someone on Homesteading Today was looking for Barnvelders in the PNW. Their note is on Homesteading Today in the poultry section.

Do you by any chance have a link to it? I tried to find it, but didn't see any thread there about Barnies, and don't see a way to do a search. I would sure appreciate a little more help in locating that.

Thanks!

I have a nice Pot Bellied Pig that needs a new home. His name is Hamlet and he is about 1 year old. He is about 70-80 pounds which is about average for male pot bellies. He is fixed and quite healthy. He comes willingly for treats and is charming. I am asking $50.00 for him if anyone is interested in him. He is a very nice pet, but 3 is just too many for me to handle in my current set up.

I am able to deliver him anywhere from Roseburg on up to Eugene. Any further north or south and I will have to ask you for gas money, but can do it anyway.

Hi friends! We survived the flood - and the first week of clean-up.
Our friend Laura has kept a close eye on me (and a few Seramas!) from the beginning (thanks Laura!) I almost died from flinging myself down the stairs with an armload of the kids' rubber boots, but we all know I'll do just about anything to get out of work
lol.png

The really good news is that ALL my chickens, goats, cats and dog survived the ordeal
yippiechickie.gif

I'm glad to see that things around here are moving forward and I am looking forward to the upcoming swap. I might only be bringing myself, but it will be with a smile on my face at least.

Flood pics on my website, if anyone likes to see more mud than usual.

John, often times when things are posted here on the swap thread as available, people just assume that it means it's something that you will have available at the swap itself. I also don't usually see people putting "dibs" on things until much closer to swap time...

Black Sex-Link Hatching Eggs, possibly some Chicks.

Spoken For:
Enough chicks for 2-3 pullets, Jersey Giants for moodlymoo

Can do special hatchings of our breeds and many others - have many great connections for SQ/BQ eggs in a variety of breeds. Want just 5 chicks, healthy with no shipping losses? Get in touch with me, email is best.

By Request -
Heritage meat cockerel chicks, if we aren't sold out - $0.75ea, perfect for pastured poultry and backyard programs. The fastest maturing heritage breed, get the tenderness of a young bird with the flavor of a real chicken.

Capons, Dominique, Walrus and Sex-Links (Dominique cross), *possibly* Jersey Giants. Grow meat birds in town! Capons do not crow, can be grown longer and stay tender, make great adoptive mothers for chicks, and can be housed with hens. All these breeds will make excellent capons, with good feed conversion and rate of growth. We need to know at least 3 months in advance if you want these capons! They need time to incubate, hatch, grow to caponizing size (about 8 weeks) and then have some recovery time before the swap.

See post #62 for more information about WallTenter's birds....

Plant starts, strawberries if they're on, etc.

*These pens have blue roosters over blue barred hens, if a chick comes out splash it will be harder to see the dot on the head for the sex-linking. About 1/4 of the chicks will be splash.

---Have---
(All are for sale or trade starting now and will come to swap if I still have em but need to clear some room so make me an offer!)
1 dark blue silkie hen (broody queen and great mom) but great layer in between getting usually 5 (rarely 6) a week from her. Going to be 2 years old in spring. Breeder Quality ( 1 foot has bad toe spacing but not to serious, crest is ok compared to some but helps her see better otherwise shes nice.)

1 white silkie hen (my insta-mom) she is going to be a year old in spring but has helped raise 2 batches of babies and never been broody! She will protect from other hens, feeds, covers them for warmth and lets them sleep with her at night! Everything but hatching them! She lays 2-3 a week. She is breeder quality.

1 Breeder Quality possibly show quality Splash silkie pullet. Shes 4 months old is turning out better than I though! nice wing placment and crest but toe spacing off just a lil and a bit of light skin on her toes but no much. Nice dark eyes and lil bit of light color on her beek. Otherwise shes got great splash color with some black spots mixed in with her blue splashes. ( I'm keeping her brother and a sister and may show them and her at the next show I can make it to just to see how they stack up if I still have her)

2 dark blue silkie pullets 6 months old as of january. Breeder quality just got done moulting and looking better each day.

2 chicks buff with blue under fluff, 4 weeks old this week. Not a recognised color but very pretty ( hen is blue dad is buff they are a mix of the 2).

Possibly some hatching eggs from silkie hens above with splash roo if I still have the hens?
I also have been getting fertile eggs from my LF barred rock and LF light brahma from either white silkie roo or splash silkie cockerel (ive seen him mounting silkie hen). so I can bring some if any1 interested for free, I have not hatched any yet?

From DD
