How many chickens did you start with? Pecking is sometimes caused by protein deficiency. How much corn are you giving them?

right now I am mixing about half corn and half laying mash and giving to them

it does not have protein listed on the bag. It says 100% formula laying crumbles. Well down to 6 in pen now.

My son has some Austra-White youngsters that began to pick at each other in a very bad way and began adding some fish meal with their regular 20% starter ration and the situation cleaned itself up in about three days. They never had been crowded...just deficient in high quality protein.

So many chicken feeds do not contain animal based proteins. A lot of times just adding some meat or egg based protein will stop pecking in just a coupe of days.
