Our first broody hen day 17

Update: that clutch was not a go obviously but since then, another became broody and hatched out her chicks perfectly. It has been two weeks. She has been away from the main coop, in our barn inside a small brooder. Out in the main coop there are seven hens and a rooster. Does the rooster change any of the suggestions given above? He is not more inclined to attack them than the other hens, is he?

In my experiences rooster can be more accepting of chicks, but they are all different. Sometimes roosters chase chicks the same as the hens. Letting everyone get familiar through a fence for a week or two is always a good idea.
