If one takes a Partridge male over Silver Pencilled hens it should give me Partridge pullets (although they may be light in color) and Silver Pencilled cockerels (although they will be brassy). If I take those offspring back to the parents (partridge pullets to the partridge cock bird and Silver Pencilled cockerel to the Silver Pencilled hens), will that then give me back true breeding colors that I can then fine tune (to remove the lightness from Partridge and the brassy from Silver Pencilled?)

With the Partridge you are there immediately (unless the silvers have a dominant gold diluter, which is uncommon).
With the silvers you may have a brassiness problem that is more persistent.
