If he's trying to bite you, is it a really fast nibble or a hard pinch and twist? The really fast nibble means he's trying to groom you.

He's preening your "feathers", or lack thereof. Humans have an appalling lack of feathers to clean, so we wind up getting nibbled and pinched while our ducks are trying to clean us. It means they like you.

Ok so here are my babies now at 5 weeks old was just told that the one mixed color one is an Indian runner Opinions anyone???

Maybe a mix? It doesn't look like he's standing like an Indian Runner. They stand very tall almost like penguins. I'm a novice though. Maybe someone else has more input?

Anyone know about what age Pekins reach full size? Or at least start slowing down growth wise?

I got these few days ago from a seller who could not tell the actual breed. I'm wondering if they are true Pekin ducks. Here they are at their new home this morning.

I'm new to ducks and am looking for advice! I just brought home 5 jumbo pekin ducks that are about 7 weeks old. They are being fed Meatbird Crumbles from Rural King as that is what the breeder was feeding them. We aren't raising them for meat, just as pets and for eggs. With that in mind, how much should I feed them? I'm afraid to following the instructions on the bag because I'm not wanting to fatten them up and have leg issues later on. Thanks for any help!!
