I have a Polish/Spanish Arabian mare, Icy Topaz, thirteen years old & 14.1hh. She's had two foals before, with a different owner. Her sire is Aicying (at least, that's what her dam's owner said to the riding stable I purchased her from. The sire's owner, she said, refused to recognize Topaz due to her blue eye, and the dam's owner took him to court, was winning, and then dropped it when her son died in a car accident) and I will dig up her dam's name sometime.

I do dressage with Topaz and I would like a taller foal also for dressage. I really don't care what color the foal ends up. Chestnut, bay, black, grey, sabino- I like them all.

Topaz is really sweet. She follows me around in the pasture and nickers when she sees me. I'd like to see a nice temperment in the foal, too. I also love how she doesn't need shoes.

I'm going to get some pictures of her up here in a bit.

I was going to say Khartoon Klassic. I had a khemosabi grandbaby. She was my first arab, and so far the best i've had. Bought her a an unbroke 3yr old and put her down 2 years ago at 23.

Khemo lines are known for being tractable. From your post , i gather you do not have her papers? From you saying she has a blue eye she must have a large amount of white on her face?

I say him, because he is an excellent mover, with a great disposition. But it is hard to say without seeing your mare. You want to breed her to a stallion that is better than your mare and is strong in what your mare is weak in. ALso some studs are super potent in passing certain characteristics on no matter WHAT they are bred to.

I am glad to see more than one stud with those khemo lines.

I've been out of the Arabian circle for some years, but the old Kellogg breeding used horses for dressage as I remember. You might investigate them.

I will get some photos of Topaz up today. On Friday night my gelding ate 20 pounds of layer pellets. The vet was there till four AM and we have been very busy COMPLETELY horse-proofing the chickens' feed room as well as taking care of the silly horse! Oh well, at least he is fine. I was so worried!!

Bonne Vivant is another stallion I am looking at: http://www.asafarm.com/bonne-vivant/index.php

Do you see a stud fee?

Khartoon Khlassic is really beautiful. Topaz doesn't have a huge amount of white on her face, both eyes are surrounded by brown. She has a normal looking blaze. She isn't registered due to the whole Aicying-is-not-her-sire disagreement. Is that going to be a problem?

Any thoughts on breeding her to an Andalusian?

Khartoon Klassic for sure would be my choice. He is the most proven and seems to have the strongest dressage conformation. With the other Khemo baby I can't see squat about him on the website and there seems to be little to nothing about his get.
