Oh, I'm so relieved!!
They're alive and happy!
It's 60°F this morning- quite cool for this time of year.
The only one I didn't see was the Egyptian Fayoumi, but I'm sure she was like 'Heck, no! I'm staying under here where it's warm. Y'all chicks are crazy!'
Seven of them even went over to eat and Buff really wanted them under her. Buff did well!
I will get better and more pictures later today.
Thank you all so much!
At first, this was the only little chick I saw, sticking her little head out to say, "Hi".
The chicks were in the garage. When our sheltie and I walked into the garage, Jester immediately looks in the box, wondering where his chickies are.
This is Jester peeking into the shed, he was very concerned.
Hey, Mom. What are you eating?
(I gave Buff a little scratch.)
This was one of the feather legged ones- either Blue Splash Marans or Blue Cochin.
I thought I'd be able to tell the difference by now... but both of their feet are pretty equally feathery.
No more scratch. It's like a candy bar and she needs nutrition. Maybe some peas or other snacks that are high in protein. It's the amino acids in the protein that matters.
Your Marans shouldn't have any feathers on it's middle toe. And the CCL is likely the one with the wider/darker stripe.
