Polish Chick damaged feather need advice

I got a mixed flock of chicks born March 29 so currently between 5-6 weeks.

My polish chick tried to escape yesterday. I had a dog crate divider over their coop to try to avoid them flying out. Learned my lesson because poor penguin beat up their head feathers trying to get out. Since then the others have pecked at her feathers as I expected. I have more first aid supplies arriving Monday.

I bought Blue lotion at the feed store hoping it would deter pecking but it seems to have maybe made it worse or at least isn’t helping. I watched them peck at her after I applied it.

I will attach pictures. I feel like she should be separated but I don’t know what to do about the brooder. Does Penguin the polish get it or the others? I feel like I should put it with the isolated chick bc the others are almost fully feathered.

I feel like I need to buy another waterer but the food could be placed in a dish?

How long should I expect to keep her separate? I’m attaching pictures from the incident, a picture from from the morning when it looked better then when I came home from work. It seems like there’s been more feathers removed.

I’m so stressed and sad and have to work during the day so I can’t keep constant tabs on them.

Clean the blood of as best you can. You can make a saline solution and gently wipe the blood away. If she is still bleeding, you can use regular flour or cornstarch to stop it. The other chicks will continue to peck her and you don't want them to injure her further so they need to be separated until she heals some.

Thank you for your response. I’ll get an extra waterer and separate her in the morning. She isn’t bleeding just seeing more feathers were pecked out today.

Should I get an extra feeder too or would it be ok to leave in a bowl? I don’t want to be cheap but this whole chicken project is hurting the bank account more than I expected….

You can just give her a tuppaware for water and food, no need to buy a new one.
