Post Pics Of Your Baby Chicks!

Our additional chicks came today. 11 Barred Rocks, and a total of 25 mix of Cream Legbars and Welsummer. We received 2 extra and it looks like Roos which is fine. This is just the barred rocks which we added to the brooder that had two Araucana chicks. Most are under the heat plate. Now we are up to 4 brooder boxes which eventually 1/2 will be turned into tractors for the teenage chicks. Chicken Math!

Aww! So cute!

They turn two weeks tomorrow and it was a nice day out so they got to go outside for the first time. Of course my wife only takes pictures of her favourite. Here she is standing with the boss of the group. The black one is already protective of everyone, he even tried scaring the big chickens away from looking in at them.

Here is one of two Araucana chicks we bought over a week ago. It is has feathers on its cheeks.. They are getting more prominent. The second chick does not have them. We have one fertile Araucana egg with Sulverudd Blue eggs. Hopefully we end up with hens and roo. If not we know where to get more.

10 Buff Orpington and 10 Speckled Sussex. They are uncooperative for the camera. And. It ready for their close up. These were about 1 week old when we picked them up. Boy do the kids grow up fast though. The buffs have most feathers and the Sussex still have some fluff. More chicks joining the next later this week.
Now that the yellow/red birds are a month old clearly 9 of the 10 sold to use as Buff Orpington are not. They are red (not RIR). Either Rural King mixed up their signs or they came labeled incorrectly. 1 of the hens is a BORP. I will try to get a picture of the natures chicks and maybe someone can identify them. Maybe an Isa Brown or New Hampshire or some other hybrid.
