Hi!

I noticed my polish pullet has a gap between her beak a few weeks ago. As she gets older I feel like the gap is bigger. It doesn't seem to bother her or keep her from being able to eat or drink, but just curious if anyone else has had this before? It doesn't cross its perfectly straight but I'm nervous it will start to cross at some point. Thinking I need to file the bottom beak but idk how to go about it or if I should. Does it hurt them? Please give me all the advice!

I'm pretty sure it's just that her top beak is shorter or bottom beak is longer than normal I just want to help her anyway I can

Fo you just use like a nail file? And any advice on how to not make her freak out while doing it? Lol
Yes, one for nails will work just fine.

Bundle her up in a towel with just her beak sticking out. Gently grab the bottom beak holding it on both sides and start filing.

I would do it in several sessions to keep the stress level low and always give her a great treat afterwards to end each session on good terms.
