prayer warriors (following Jesus Christ, everyone welcome)

seems to me there is a lot of adding to and taking away from the Bible. Every sermon tries to make the bible more easily understood by talking about a small portion (verse) for about 30 minutes. One fellow wants more information about Jesus' early life another wants to know about pets in heaven. There is enough information in the Bible to keep us studying for a lifetime.

There is a new movie (released lately) "Genesis, Paradise Lost" ....... a bunch of scientists are interviewed that defend a "young earth" opinion with science. I enjoyed!!!

I agree @KDOGG331 .. it seems hypocritical, but then it always makes me stop and think about my own choices and actions... And I respect his decision to stand by his faith and we do not put up a tree etc, and he honors my request to spend the day with my family, who do have a tree. We work it out to the best of both of our abilities. I can understand his reasoning behind scriptures not saying anything about remembering Jesus's birth, so that's the reason he doesn't celebrate it. Because where scriptures are silent, we really should discern carefully what would be considered "righteous" and good behavior. Overspending and spoiling our children is not good conduct, per se. Of course there's no Christmas, or pianos in Scripture, because they are of OUR invention, not commanded by the Lord.... So you see where I can agree with him in that respect. I have to wonder if my "wanting" anything at all other than what God wants from me is in fact, coveting. I make myself an idol in that respect. I'm making myself first. Not good, it can be a slippery slope.

But as far as being good and righteous and holy in behavior, but not depending on the Holy Spirit and our salvation to aid in that... I always think of these verses...

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:8‭-‬10 ESV

So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, "You have faith and I have works." Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
James 2:17‭-‬18 ESV

That always seemed contradictory to me... But scriptures are not ever contradictory ;)

We grow to do the good works. We don't do them to earn a way to salvation. We ask for guidance from the Holy Spirit daily, feed it with the Word, and we grow. We repent of our sins as we discover them, and learn how to use the full armor of God to keep Satan from tempting us too much. It starts with the inner self, our heart. We can't clean the outside behavior for real without faith in Jesus Christ changing our hearts and minds.

It's like your paper... Of course, I'm praying for you to get it done, and done well... But mostly, for you to be able to give the worry to God and let His peace give you rest and rehabilitation... This is a good little example of growing in the spirit, the more we learn the hard lessons, the more we learn and change and grow. I used to leave things to the last minute all the time lol. I felt like I could work better under pressure. I still do ;) But it might end up causing more stress and me messing up appointments or wasting precious time fixing something I did wrong in a hurry to get it done. Since I know it's a bad habit of mine, I add it into my morning prayer to ask for help in getting the grudging task done first thing whether I want to or not, so it can be done. It's a lesson I had to learn to use God to help me out because I'm just too weak to do it on my own. That's how we grow ;)

That's good you can at least respect each other and opinions and mot argue about it

And I guess that makes sense but then you could argue anything is our invention. Cars, books, school, stores, clothes, etc. I mean, are we just supposed to live in the woods with no clothes? I don't think so. I think it's a line.

Also I don't think that you are or that it is. And maybe I'm wrong but I think God would want us to be happy instead of stressing over every tiny thing and living in a constant state of stress but idk. Of course I'm not saying to just go drink and sleep around and stuff like that but as long as you're reading the Bible and/or going to church, and helping people, and living a good and wholesome life, and stuff like that, I think that's what's important. And of course a few more things that I can't think of atm, there's a bit more to it, but basically yeah. But I might be wrong.

It's also human nature and we have to work on it. At least some of it. But again I don't think we should just live in a bubble in our room

But of course we do have to be careful about some stuff. Idk. I hope I am making sense.

And thank you. I did do it but not till like 3 hours before and actually technically I didn't really really start and get going till like an hour before and then I was an hour late to class.

But I did get the test back which I got a 97 on.

I think I take for granted that I'm relatively smart and usually get good grades and the teacher I've had a lot gives most people A's/minimal work, so now taking one that has work it's an adjustment but it's not hard by any means. I just need to be a better student lol

Anyway, I hate to keep asking for this because I suppose I'm being somewhat selfish and should be praying for other people and maybe I am the one focusing on myself too much but.......

Can you guys please pray for me again?

But for a completely different reason this time......

My family too.

Thanks.

Happy Thanksgiving !!!
Thank you Lord Jesus for making a way for us to be with you.

John 14 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

1 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And you know the way where I am going.” 5 Thomas *said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?” 6 Jesus *said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.”

8 Philip *said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.” 9 Jesus *said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. 12 Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.

15 “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.

16 I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; 17 that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.

18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 After a little while the world will no longer see Me, but you will see Me; because I live, you will live also. 20 In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him.” 22 Judas (not Iscariot) *said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?” 23 Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him. 24 He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.

25 “These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you. 26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. 28 You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. 30 I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in Me; 31 but so that the world may know that I love the Father, I do exactly as the Father commanded Me. Get up, let us go from here.
