We have a blue swede duck that has been disappearing into a neighboring field. She shows up about once a day to bath and eat dinner, then it's back to the field.

This has been going on for about 3 weeks. What do we need to prepare for the day she shows up with her ducklings?

Not much. The mothers that do not belong to you know how to care for their young. The ducklings also may be kept in a different pen and not be yet let loose. If she's wild, she will care for them just fine. Just don't get to close, as she could become aggressive during breeding season. If that's all you wanted you can stop reading here. If you are preparing to keep ducklings, then you need to have a brooder and pen ready for them in a clean environment with clean feeders that are always filled with food and water and supplement heat for the really small ones at night. Having a pond wouldn't hurt.
