Everything is expensive here. I think a dozen regular large eggs at the grocery is $2.... and that would be the caged, non organic chickens. Last time I was at the organic market, organic free range eggs were something like $6-7/ dozen. I don't buy eggs in the store, so I don't know what the "free range" eggs sell for at the regular grocer. People advertise their home raised eggs on craigslist for $3.50- $5.
