Hey I need advice asap. I have a chick who I think is about 7 maybe 8 days old. Hatched with no issues or health concerns. Long story short I discovered it had curled toes so I taped them and went to bed and in the morning I found him laying on his stomach with his leg stretched out backwards. I took the tape off but the chicks leg kept wanting to stretch out backwards. Since then its been going down hill and as you can see from the photos below its not great. I put sand paper down before it got to this stage and it seemed to help. I left them in the care of a friend while I went on a work related trip for my job for 2 nights. And when I came back he was like this. Is there anything I can do to help him? I want to give him a chance at life, I feel awful. And what is this he has? I know hes compensating as he has more muscle in one leg than the other and he can't really stand still.
Is it a severe case of spraddle leg? A tendon issue? Dislocation? Etc?!
