Quail third eyelid showing sick for weeks now

My quail dottie has been sick for 3 weeks. Her third eyelid is showing, she's being lethargic and sitting puffed up. She stands with one leg up. I had her on amoxicillin for 7 days, she's been off for 2 now. I gave her nutri-drench in her water, she eats Purina gamebird crumbles and dried meal worms and black soldier fly larvae for treats.

Her poops changed from yellowish jelly mucus (during amox) to dark tar-ish (after amox)

Any ideas?

Thank you! She's definitely on the upswing now, I treated with antibiotics and now on 2nd week of corrid. She has a healing ulcer on one eye but she seems albetter is. Normal poops too! I also got her a hubby asap, and 2 snowflake bobwhites that are still brooding. I'd still like to know what the illness was but I'm so grateful she's feeling betterish.

It is awesome you were able to get going to heal her. She will be your best buddy! The more you are able to cure them the more confident you will feel about your birds. Do you own any other birds?

I have 10 pekin silkie mix chickens, and I grew up around pet birds. My grandma had 40 cockatiels at one point! Umbrella cockatoo, love birds, quakers pretty much all of em. I was thrown into quail keeping after my husband found an injured one in the road. We got her friends and here I am lol. Just built them a flight pen that they're moving into tomorrow!
