I discovered at age 33 that I dislike being called, "Sal." My name is Sally, and I much prefer that.

That said... I think it's... ok. I wouldn't have passed it on to a daughter. I asked my mom why she didn't name me after her mom. She wasn't overly fond of her mom's first name, Eva, for a little girl. What about her middle name, Fern?

Pair Fern with my last name... uh, no. Hard no.

And my paternal grandmother, Henrietta? I look like her, and that's fine.

Like, my real name? Not a nickname or username? Like, what my parents call me?

Yeah, I guess. Emily is common, but it’s nice and it’s easy for people to spell and pronounce. Surprisingly, I have not actually met very many Emilys in my area, so I guess it’s kind of unique too. That being said, it’s on the top ten list that comes up when you google “common girl names”

I’m not a huge fan of my name. I don’t like most H names. But mine’s just too long. Three syllables it’s too long. And nobody can pronounce it right, unless they’re a Christian.

I love the name Emily! If I'd had a daughter, that would have been her name.

I don't know (personally) anyone named Emily. I just like the way it sounds.

I like my name and nickname, although it gets confused with another name that is similar to mine very often. And my nickname is pronounced the wrong way often as well. But other than that I like it!

Yes, i like mine. I think it's quite unique as I've never met anyone with the exact same (there's a name that's very similar, but to me different, that name is one of my nicknames), and I like the meaning
