A few days ago I posted about my hen who had a prolapse vent. Mrs duck had a bad prolapse that I healed enough to put her back in with the others the week before. Well a week later, it happened again but worse. There was an egg stuck. I spent 4 hours trying to help her get the egg out. Baths, ointments, and sprays but only a small piece came out. Because the rest of it had broken inside of her. Then for a half an hour she sat squealing in pain. The most heartbreaking sound I'll ever hear. When I realized that her intestines were hanging out. Or what I believe was her intestines. So a vet, that does not handle chickens, euthanized her for free. I couldn't stand letting her in that much pain. I did everything I could think of before.
1. I did Epsom salt baths.
2. Preparation H
3. Vetericyn spray
4. Neosporin (Which my vet recommended. )
5. Massages
6. Even tried and help and softly as I could.
7. Gave her tums.
Yes she was separated and in a dark area. She was also eating grass and drinking until half an hour before it all started. Sometimes they don't even feel it until it gets that bad. I'm not sure why or how it all fell out. I'm not sure why she kept pushing. But I do know that everywhere I search, I don't see any information on this happening so I'm creating this to be informative. Maybe people know and could Comment so someone who is struggling like I did, could understand and maybe save their bird. I won't post the video of her screaming because I can't get the sound out of my head and I don't want you guys to deal with that. But I will post some photos.

I’m so sorry you and your girl when through all of this. Sometimes there’s just nothing we can do and euthanizing is the most humane thing. :hugsThank you for helping others who might go through this too.
