I'm not having tons of luck with herbs ( have only gardened 2 seasons) but planting this weekend ( northern Maine) and have some herbs started indoors, and will sow direct for others ( the seedlings wither and die so quick indoors- haven't figured out why yet!, when everything else does so well)

I need to find some nice mints to add to my herb garden- I love mint and teas, etc! Haven't done lavender yet- probably too late to start this year with it- but next year I'll give it a shot!

Nettie, buy a few nursery plants to get yourself started.

I might have to do that. I have a "few" that did ok, but are small. I planted them today, along with some seed. There's a greenhouse in town that should have herbs, so I might get some extra, bigger plants to intersperse in the rest of the herb garden.
