Perhaps thinking in line of silkies - many of which thrive with roosts slightly above ground level. If you can't raise the roof, the only solution I see is dropping the roost.

They do have 2 1/2 feet on each side. I think the bar looks higher than it is? It should only be 18-20 inches above the bedding.Another reason to lower the roost a bit is the limited area they have to jump off of it.
But I see that may interfere with the pop door.
